Step 2 : Brainstorming. (Finding a route through the problem).

To find the answer to the problem, relationships must be established between the information given and the answer required. In general the problem will be solved as soon as suitable relationships have been found. Finding the relationships that you need is the first important part of this step, the second being using the relationships to find the route. These two parts,

  • 2.1. brainstorming for relationships and
  • 2.2. using the relationships,
must be repeated until a route to the solution to the problem is discovered.

It is very important to note that Step 2 does not involve any calculations.
